If you are looking for a lasting solution for missing teeth, then dental implants may be the answer. Implant treatment has opened up a whole new world of possibilities and advances in technology mean that more people than ever are now suitable for dental implants.

dental implants

First of all: a consultation with a dental implant specialist, and an X-ray

Each dental treatment begins with a consultation, and this is very important for establishing a relationship of trust between the dentist and the patient. It is a session in which the dentist analyzes the patient's dental health conditions and prepares an elaborate treatment plan. A consultation can be immediately followed by a treatment, but usually the treatments require further follow-up visits. Consultation is also needed to determine the cost of dental treatment.

In our clinic we have the possibility to make complex panoramic x-rays, bitewing. Many more complex dental procedures, such as root canal treatment, extractions, dental and orthodontic implants, require radiography as an essential condition for an accurate diagnosis. Our dental radiography package includes two small bitewing radiographs, and an orthopanoramic radiograph of the front of your oral cavity.

Dental implants: First session

Over the first session, the screws of the implants made of titanium are inserted into the bone, this is a surgical operation that lasts 20-25 minutes.

Dental implants: Second session

Over the second session, which takes place 2-6 months after the first, the gingiva is reopened and the dental abutment screwed onto the implant. The crown is attached to the stump which has the same color and shape as the other teeth.

If you don't have sufficient bone density

It should however be emphasized that the implant treatment requires a quantity of bone tissue necessary to keep the dental implant fixed. It can happen, for various reasons, that the patient does not have sufficient bone tissue, a situation that makes surgery difficult or impossible. In this case, it is necessary to add the missing bone tissue in order to carry out the implant. This operation is performed before or during the implant surgery.

implant supported dentures

Complete dentures consist of a dental bridge across the jaw or fixed crowns that are cemented on osseointegrated dental implants or applied to the patient's teeth and are no longer removable.

If the tooth root is healthy, the denture is fixed to the existing teeth, but it often happens that all the teeth must be extracted to then proceed to insert the dental implants (4-8).

There are several types of complete dentures. The two best known dentures are the metal-ceramic one and the metal Free one. The first is made of an alloy of metals and a variable percentage of gold, and is entirely coated with ceramic, while the second is made of ceramic and does not contain metal.
